Oh Dae-hwan’s honest family story, a touching moment

Singer and actress Uhm Jung-hwa recently spoke about her youngest brother, actor Uhm Tae-woong, during the web variety show ″Salty Brother Shin Dong-yup,″ which aired on the 18th. Alongside Uhm Jung-hwa, the show featured Song Seung-heon, Lee El, and Oh Dae-hwan, who shared insights into their recent lives. Hosted by Shin Dong-yup and comedian Jung Ho-chul, the episode was filled with a variety of engaging stories.

Oh Dae-hwan reminisced about his family, revealing, ″The last meal I want to eat before I die is the egg rolls, soybean paste stew, and soju my eldest daughter made me when I was in fourth grade.″ Uhm Jung-hwa was visibly moved by his words, and Lee El echoed her sentiment, saying, ″I was so touched.″

He explained that his eldest daughter matured quickly due to having many younger siblings, recalling a moment when she expressed, ″I should just leave home or something,″ when their fourth child was born. Shin Dong-yup humorously responded, ″You should’ve told me then. When you leave home, you’ll have a fifth child,″ which brought laughter to the group. He added, ″You’ll see later. Those three older sisters will be desperate to take care of their younger brother.″

Oh Dae-hwan also shared his concerns for his youngest son, describing him as ″a bit pitiful″ after being scolded by his three older sisters. His wife shared similar feelings. Shin Dong-yup chimed in, saying, ″You just need to raise him like a man. Otherwise, he’ll run like this at school,″ mimicking a running gesture that elicited more laughter.

Uhm Jung-hwa recounted a childhood memory involving her youngest brother, Uhm Tae-woong. She shared, ″My youngest brother, Tae-woong, used to play house, calling me ’Unnie.’ When I started middle school, I was so upset that I cried.″ She expressed her frustration, saying, ″He’s my older brother, so why do I have to call him ’Unnie?’″ Oh Dae-hwan added to the humor by recalling how his youngest son, in a hurry during first grade, would call him ″big sister″ instead of ″older sister.″

The program allowed the cast to bond over their family stories, creating a warm atmosphere filled with laughter and touching moments. Their shared experiences delivered a heartfelt message to viewers, highlighting the importance of family connections.
