RM, a member of the group BTS, is collaborating with the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) to hold a special exhibition titled "RM x SFMOMA." The exhibition will run from October 2026 to February 2027. This project marks the first collaboration between SFMOMA and a K-pop artist since the museum's establishment.

The exhibition will showcase over 200 pieces, including RM's personal collection and works owned by the museum. SFMOMA proposed this project in recognition of RM's collecting taste and his passion for contemporary art. The exhibition is co-curated by RM and SFMOMA, with RM participating directly as a curator.

RM's collection includes works by leading Korean contemporary artists as well as renowned artists from around the world. The exhibited works come from various countries and cultures, with many being introduced to the general public for the first time.

RM stated, "We live in an era defined by boundaries. I hope this exhibition becomes a space to reflect on the boundaries between East and West, Korea and the United States, modern and contemporary, individual and universal." He added, "There is no fixed way to appreciate the works, but I hope it becomes a small yet solid bridge for many people."

Janet Bishop, Senior Curator at SFMOMA, said, "Visitors will have an unprecedented opportunity to experience a dialogue between RM's beautiful and contemplative collection of paintings and sculptures and the museum's collection."

SFMOMA is the largest contemporary art museum in the United States, housing an outstanding collection across various fields including painting, sculpture, photography, architecture, design, and media art by world-renowned artists. This exhibition is expected to offer a new artistic experience by combining the museum's collection with RM's personal collection.

Detailed schedules and viewing methods for the exhibition will be announced later. The collaboration between RM and SFMOMA will be recorded as an important case that breaks down the boundaries between contemporary art and popular culture, attempting a new form of artistic communication.
