The groups TVXQ and RISE were honored with awards at the 16th Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards. The ceremony was held on October 23 and is the highest government award in the field of popular culture and arts, given to artists and organizations that have contributed to the spread of Hallyu and the development of the industry.

TVXQ was selected as the recipient of the Presidential Citation, while RISE received the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Citation. Both groups are artists under SM Entertainment and were highly praised for their contributions to elevating the status of Hallyu.

TVXQ celebrated their 20th anniversary since their Korean debut in 2023 and marked their 20th anniversary since their Japanese debut this year. They have set records for the most performances by overseas artists at Tokyo Dome and nationwide domes, establishing themselves as legends of K-pop. Additionally, they are actively engaged in various fields such as music, acting, musicals, and entertainment through both group and solo activities.

At the awards ceremony, TVXQ stated, "We have now reached our 22nd year since debut, and we will not be deceived by familiarity but always strive to be artists who keep working hard. We will continue to do our best in our positions to contribute further to K-culture."

RISE debuted in 2023 with their first single album, Get A Guitar. They left a strong first impression with their unique genre, "emotional pop," and perfect performances. Their first full-length album, ODYSSEY, released last May, achieved a career high by becoming a three-time million-seller. They also proved their popularity by connecting with fans worldwide through their first world tour, RIIZING LOUD.

TVXQ plans to hold fan events in Tokyo and Hyogo, Japan, in November. RISE is scheduled to release a new single on November 24. Both groups are expected to continue their active roles at the center of the Hallyu wave.
