NCT's Jungwoo successfully completed the musical concert "This is PESTE." The concert was held for three days from October 31 to November 2 at Yonsei University Auditorium in Seoul. "This is PESTE" is the concert version of the musical "PESTE," which reinterprets Albert Camus's novel "The Plague" with music by Seo Taiji.
Jungwoo played the role of Dr. Rieux in this production. Rieux is a character who confronts the city of Oran, thrown into chaos by an epidemic, with conviction and justice to save it. Jungwoo vividly portrayed Rieux's inner world through his outstanding vocal skills, detailed expressions, gestures, and narration.
Jungwoo led the audience into the story by performing a variety of songs. From powerful numbers like "T'IK T'AK" and "I Know" to genre-crossing pieces such as "To You," "Sad Pain," "COMA," "TAKE FIVE," and "LIVE WIRE," he showcased his versatile talent. These songs deeply moved the audience with Jungwoo's solid vocals.
After the performance, Jungwoo shared his thoughts. He said, "It was an honor to sing the music of the respected senior Seo Taiji. I gave my best like Rieux, as I had prepared for a long time. Thanks to the audience who supported me, I was able to finish the stage well." He added, "I will continue to repay with an even more developed self in the future."
Meanwhile, Jungwoo will hold a solo fan meeting, "Golden Sugar Time," on November 28 at Ticketlink Live Arena in Olympic Park, Seoul. The fan meeting will take place twice, at 3 PM and 8 PM. Jungwoo's fan meeting is anticipated as an opportunity for communication with his fans.
