Jang Dong-joo apologizes for being unreachable, saying "I needed time to sort myself out."


Actor Jang Dong-joo recently issued an apology regarding the recent disappearance incident. On the 20th, Jang Dong-joo posted a lengthy apology on his social media. He stated, "I sincerely apologize for causing concern to the drama staff, production company, agency, family, and acquaintances due to my private situation which made communication difficult recently."

Jang Dong-joo went silent after posting a brief message saying "Sorry" on social media on the 31st of last month. This caused many people to worry about his well-being. His agency, Nexus ENM, announced, "We have located Jang Dong-joo. Fortunately, it has been confirmed that the situation is not bad. We apologize for causing concern," and clarified the situation.

In his apology, Jang Dong-joo explained the reason for his disappearance. He said, "Due to various circumstances overlapping, I needed some time to reorganize myself," adding, "Having started acting at a young age and running without rest, I think I failed to properly check my condition and mind." He emphasized that this incident made him deeply realize the impact of his actions on those around him.

Jang Dong-joo pledged, "From now on, I will communicate more clearly and responsibly in any situation, thoroughly prepare for the tasks assigned to me, and manage myself more firmly to maintain trust on set." He added, "Starting next year, I will focus on acting with a healthier mindset," and "I will meet everyone through the drama 'From Today, I Am a Human,' which will premiere on January 16."

Born in 1994, Jang Dong-joo debuted in 2012 with the play "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Since then, he has appeared in various works such as the dramas "School 2017," "Criminal Minds," "Mr. Temporary," "I Will Be Your Night," and the Netflix series "Trigger." In 2021, he gained attention for catching a drunk driving hit-and-run offender.

Through this incident, Jang Dong-joo recognized the impact of his actions on those around him and vowed to show a more responsible attitude going forward. The drama "From Today, I Am a Human," in which he stars, will premiere on January 16, 2025. He made it clear that he plans to strengthen communication with fans and focus on his acting career.
