The group Stray Kids has achieved their eighth consecutive No. 1 on the US Billboard main album chart, the Billboard 200, with their new album "DO IT." This is the highest number of No. 1 rankings for a K-pop artist. It was announced that Stray Kids' album topped the Billboard 200 chart dated December 6.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks albums by combining physical album sales, streaming equivalent albums (SEA), and track equivalent albums (TEA) converted from digital song downloads. Starting with "ODDINARY" in 2022, Stray Kids set a record with eight consecutive albums topping this chart: "ODDINARY," "MAXIDENT," "★★★★★ (Five-Star)," "樂-STAR (Rock-Star)," "ATE," "合·HOP," "KARMA," and now "DO IT."
Stray Kids broke their own record as the K-pop artist with the most No. 1s on the Billboard 200. They remain the only artist whose first eight albums to enter the Billboard 200 all reached No. 1 consecutively. Billboard explained, "Stray Kids set a new record as the group with the most Billboard 200 No. 1s since 2000 with their eighth No. 1."
The album "DO IT" tells a story based on the belief of "acting boldly with confidence now," enjoying the present, and creating something new. It includes a total of five tracks, featuring the double title tracks "Do It" and "Fresh Fun." The in-house producing team 3RACHA (Bang Chan, Changbin, Han) produced all the songs themselves.
With "DO IT" from the "SKZ's It Tape" released on November 21, Stray Kids ranked in 11 categories on the Billboard main charts dated December 6, including the Hot 100 and Billboard 200. The new release sold approximately 295,000 copies in the US during its first week, topping the Billboard 200. In August this year, with their fourth full album "KARMA," Stray Kids became the first artist in the 70-year history of the Billboard 200 to have seven consecutive albums debut at No. 1.
With this album, Stray Kids now hold a total of eight No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, ranking third among groups worldwide with the most No. 1 albums on this chart, following The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. They are tied with U2.
One of the double title tracks from the new album, "Do It," debuted at No. 68 on the Hot 100 chart. Stray Kids have now placed five songs on the Hot 100: "Rock" (No. 90), "Lose My Breath" (No. 90), "Chill Chill Boom" (No. 49), "Ceremony" (No. 52), and "Do It." BTS and Stray Kids are the only K-pop boy groups to have five or more songs chart on the Hot 100.
Stray Kids' fourth full album "KARMA" continues its long-running popularity on the Billboard 200. It ranked No. 35 on the December 6 Billboard 200 chart, marking 14 consecutive weeks on the chart. This achievement means Stray Kids have two albums simultaneously charting on the Billboard 200.
Physical and digital sales of "KARMA" and "DO IT" reached approximately 296,000 and 286,000 copies respectively, ranking third and fourth in pure album sales in the US in 2025, achieving the best results among K-pop artists.
Their agency, JYP Entertainment, said, "We truly can't believe it. 2025 will be a year to remember for a long time. The world tour journey with STAY (the fandom name) around the globe seven times, seven and eight consecutive No. 1s on the Billboard 200, and winning grand prizes at music award shows—these achievements would not have been possible without STAY. We sincerely thank STAY, who always supports our choices and serves as our compass. We will continue to quietly walk our own path as Stray Kids."
