10 Pro Baseball Stars Compete in Singing Skills on 'Immortal Songs'

KBS2's 'Immortal Songs' will present the '2026 Pro Baseball Special' in its 739th episode. This special commemorates the historic achievement of surpassing 12 million spectators for the first time in domestic professional sports and aims to offer fans various delights ahead of the 2026 pro baseball season opening in March.

The special features 10 current and former baseball stars, including Kim Byung-hyun, Park Yong-taek, Lee Dae-hyung, Jung Geun-woo, Hwang Jae-gyun, Yoo Hee-kwan, Choi Joo-hwan, Kim Tae-yeon, Jeon Sa-min, and Lim Jun-hyung. They will fiercely compete for the 'Immortal Songs' trophy. Park Yong-taek expressed pride as a KBS baseball commentator and revealed in MC Lee Chan-won's introduction, "I was selected as a commentator for the 2026 WBC and will collaborate again with Lee Dae-hyung."

Lee Dae-hyung, who was Park Yong-taek's longtime roommate, shared in Park's pride with a proud smile. Baseball juniors shared memories of Park Yong-taek, testifying to his presence. Lim Jun-hyung recalled, "When I saw senior Park Yong-taek as a ball boy, he was a star with a unique physique and figure," and Choi Joo-hwan said, "At that time, senior was so good that I didn't even want to hear his cheering song."

During a previous appearance on 'Immortal Songs,' Park Yong-taek performed his cheering song 'Natanah.' He said, "People say my self-esteem is number one," and this time, he stated, "I decided to sing a song I'm good at." He chose 'The Age of Cathedrals,' the representative number from the musical 'Notre-Dame de Paris,' which demands tremendous vocal ability. MC Lee Chan-won could not hide his amazement, saying, "Wow," and MC Kim Jun-hyun commented, "There's a musical tone in your voice. It suits you well."

Regarding his song choice, Park Yong-taek said, "When I sing this song at drinking gatherings, people say it's amazing. I consider myself a musical actor." However, he added with a laugh, "When I actually practiced, it was a very difficult song."

'Immortal Songs' airs every Saturday at 6:05 PM on KBS 2TV. The '2026 Pro Baseball Special' will continue to meet viewers over two weeks, following the first part aired today until the 17th (Saturday). 'Immortal Songs,' which creates legendary videos that viewers want to watch again every episode, is solidifying its position as a music entertainment program.
