
JTBC's weekend drama "Waiting for Kyungdo," starring Park Seo-joon and Won Ji-an, moved viewers with the reunion of Lee Kyung-do and Seo Ji-woo in the final episode aired on January 11. The finale successfully concluded with a 4.7% viewership rating in both the metropolitan area and nationwide.
In the drama, the story unfolds as Lee Kyung-do investigates the criminal activities of Seo Ji-woo's brother-in-law, Kang Min-woo. Lee Kyung-do, along with his colleagues, gathers evidence and publishes an article revealing Kang Min-woo's crimes and his attempt to sell Jarim Apparel. As a result, Kang Min-woo was imprisoned, and the Seo sisters, Ji-woo and Ji-yeon, were able to protect Jarim Apparel. However, Lee Kyung-do and Seo Ji-woo lost each other and wandered apart.
Seo Ji-woo kept lingering around Lee Kyung-do, but he avoided her, conscious of the world's gaze. Seeing their son in pain, Lee Kyung-do's parents advised him to take a break, and he decided to forget Seo Ji-woo and took a long vacation abroad. A year later, Seo Ji-woo was settling in at Jarim Apparel, while Lee Kyung-do was living alone in Malaga, Spain.
Seo Ji-woo visited Malaga during a business trip to Barcelona but did not encounter Lee Kyung-do. Like their past misunderstandings, they passed by each other. Later, they met again in Korea due to the news of the death of Cha Woo-sik, a senior from their Geurimyeolryeol club. After bidding farewell to Cha Woo-sik in sorrow, Lee Kyung-do prepared to return to Malaga.
However, on the day of departure, Seo Ji-woo stopped Lee Kyung-do at the airport. Seo Ji-woo made a heartfelt confession, saying, "As long as I have you, Kyung-do, everything will be fine," and Lee Kyung-do decided not to leave. The two embraced tightly, relieving their long-held longing. Lee Kyung-do expressed his unwavering feelings for Seo Ji-woo, saying, "In the end, I surrender to our time together."
"Waiting for Kyungdo" depicted a love story from their fresh college days to adulthood, deeply resonating with viewers. The drama captivated audiences each episode with its emotional cinematography, direction, and immersive OST.
