Cortis Martin Participates in TXT and Eyelet Songs, "Tears Over Royalties"

Cortis Martin shared an honest story about royalties. In episode 126 of the web variety show "TEO Salong Drip," which aired on February 10, Cortis's leader Martin and the youngest member Geonho appeared. They shared their experiences of working as composers even before their debut.

When Jang Doyeon asked, "Martin, did you make a name for yourself as a composer before debuting?" Martin replied, "Fortunately, the company saw what I was doing and asked if I wanted to try. Even if the results didn't come out well, I thought I would learn a lot. So I said I would work hard." Martin mentioned his participation in Tomorrow X Together (TXT)'s "Déjà Vu" and Aileit's "Magnetic," saying, "Both songs turned out really well in the end, which surprised me. It's truly an honor, and it's all thanks to the seniors."

When Jang Doyeon asked about royalties, Martin confessed, "At first, my mother managed the royalties for me. One day, I got a call from my parents asking, 'Do you know how much royalty you received this month?' When I heard the amount, I was moved to tears." This statement surprised both the cast and viewers greatly.

Geonho shared, "As soon as we entered the dorm, there was a pile of packages, and Martin was opening them alone with a smile. That day was when the royalties were deposited," which brought laughter. Martin added, "The days when royalties come in and don't come in are different."

Cortis is a five-member boy group that debuted last year and is currently preparing their second album. Martin said, "Since debut, we have received a lot of love and attention, but having the title 'BTS's younger brother group' also brought a lot of pressure." He emphasized, "We listened to advice from seniors and learned from them, which made us think, 'We need to succeed just as much.'"

Geonho shared an experience of accidentally meeting J-Hope at the company, saying, "J-Hope treated me very comfortably like a younger brother." Martin described his meeting with J-Hope as "feeling like meeting a cousin I hadn't seen in a long time during the holidays."

Martin revealed that he is learning a lot through his experience as a composer and feels that he is growing in the process. He said, "Music production has given me the opportunity to express myself." Cortis plans to continue communicating with fans through various musical attempts.

This broadcast provided an interesting episode about royalties along with Cortis Martin's sincere story. They expressed their ambition to achieve even greater success through their future musical activities.
