BTS set a new team record with their fifth studio album, "ARIRANG." According to the album sales tracking site Hanteo Chart, the album, released on the 20th of last month, recorded first-week sales of 4,169,464 copies. This surpasses the first-week sales of 3.37 million copies for their fourth studio album, "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7," released in February 2020. The new album became a million-seller in about 10 minutes after its release, with 3.98 million copies sold on the first day alone.

BTS has continued to grow by breaking records with every album. The first-week sales of their first studio album, "DARK & WILD," released in 2014, were about 16,000 copies, and their second studio album, "WINGS," released in 2016, recorded about 340,000 copies. Their third studio album, "LOVE YOURSELF 轉 'Tear'," surpassed 1 million copies. The fourth studio album, "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7," recorded first-week sales of 3.37 million copies, and the fifth album, "ARIRANG," showed first-week sales reaching 4.17 million copies. Accordingly, first-week sales of the fifth album increased approximately 260 times compared to the first album.

They also showed remarkable achievements on music charts. According to Billboard in the United States, "ARIRANG" debuted at number one on the main album chart, the Billboard 200. The title track, "SWIM," reached number two on the Hot 100, and 10 out of the 14 tracks, including "Body to Body" (42), "Hooligan" (64), "NORMAL" (73), "FYA" (74), "2.0" (75), "Aliens" (84), "Like Animals" (90), "they don't know 'bout us" (94), and "Merry Go Round" (96), entered the chart.

BTS plans to hold 85 performances in 34 cities worldwide through their world tour, "BTS World Tour 'ARIRANG'," starting on the 9th at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium. They plan to meet fans in places including Tokyo Dome in Japan, as well as North America, Europe, Asia, and South America.
