Siblings Park Seo-jin mediate parental conflict... Couple fights, tears, and a filial piety project on 'Mr. House Husband' 4.7%

KBS 2TV's "Salimnam" highlighted various daily lives between parents and children ahead of Parents' Day. In the broadcast on the 2nd, the process of siblings Park Seo-jin and her brother trying to reconcile their parents was shown, along with Hwanhee creating memories with his mother. The episode recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 4.7% according to Nielsen Korea, with the highest rating of 6.1% during the scene featuring Park Seo-jin's parents dressed in dance sports costumes.
In the opening, MC Lee Yo-won expressed her fandom for TWS Do-hoon, who lifted the atmosphere by showcasing choreography and a set of three cute gestures he created himself. In the following VCR, Park Seo-jin and her younger sister Hyo-jung prepared a Parents' Day event at their home in Incheon, but a cold atmosphere continued due to their parents' marital quarrel. Park Seo-jin's father expressed his disappointment over the request to prepare meals, while the mother shared her hurt feelings about being asked to do housework even after surgery.
Later, the Park Seo-jin siblings spent time with laughter therapy expert Professor Oh Haeng-ja to help their parents restore harmony, allowing the family to open up their true feelings. The mother revealed her burden from housework and frustration over her husband's coldness, shedding tears while mentioning the octopus incident during the holiday ancestral rites table. Although they tried to relieve emotions through role-playing, the conflict was not completely resolved.
The Park Seo-jin family chose dance sports lessons as the next step. Park Ji-woo, the mother's ideal type known as a "Seoul man," appeared and changed the mood, and Park Seo-jin's parents transformed into glamorous costumes to take on the dance challenge. When the mother shyly responded to Park Ji-woo's lead, Park Seo-jin's father grabbed his wife's wrist, drawing attention, and the mother said, "He was manly and so cool. This is our husband's expressiveness." The siblings' project to improve their parents' relationship brought about positive changes.
Meanwhile, Hwanhee attempted to live with his mother and prepared various gifts for Parents' Day. Not familiar with cooking, Hwanhee tried making kimchi fried rice but caused his mother concern by cutting all the ingredients with scissors and even doing the bedding laundry. Afterwards, Hwanhee and his mother visited a photo studio and took her passport photo for the first time in 74 years, as well as couple photos. The mother said, "I want to take pictures with my son again next time."
After the photo shoot, the mother requested a memorial portrait from the photographer. She revealed that after recently experiencing the loss of her own mother, she felt the need for a memorial portrait, and Hwanhee shed tears seeing his mother taking the photo. The mother comforted her son, saying, "It's a path everyone takes and a photo you take once in a while. Don't be too sad." Hwanhee said, "I am only now trying to make memories with my mother, but she is preparing for farewell, so I cried."
"Salimnam" airs every Saturday night at 9:20 PM.
