NEXZ, first challenge on 'Immortal Songs'... reinterpret Jo Young-hoon's classic song in GEN-Z style
NEXZ(Nexz) made their first appearance on KBS 2TV's 'Immortal Songs' and attracted attention. In the episode airing on the 9th, titled 'Immortal Songs - Lyricist and Composer Joo Young-hoon Part 2,' NEXZ(Nexz) took the stage as contestants alongside Son Seung-yeon x Jo Hyung-kyun, Aiki x Rihey x Hyojin Choi, Chae-yeon, and D82.
Among the seven members of NEXZ(Nexz), six are Japanese, and they showed quick adaptation to life in Korea. Member Yuu revealed that she has been living in Korea for three years and said, "When I eat samgyeopsal with ramen and green onion kimchi, I feel like I've become Korean." She also mentioned that she brought salted squid to the music video shoot for their new song. Tsuki from Billlie said, "I feel like I've become Korean when I call a taxi using a taxi app."
Before the competition, NEXZ(Nexz) expressed their determination to win. Yuu proposed to the executive producer Park Jin-young, "PD-nim, if we win, we would appreciate it if you could buy Korean beef not only for us but for everyone appearing here."
NEXZ(Nexz) performed a GEN-Z style reinterpretation of Turbo's debut song 'When I Was Young.' Lee Chan-won said after watching their performance, "It reminded me of ATEEZ's first appearance."
