NEXZ wins 'Immortal Songs' Jo Young-hoon episode by 1 vote in a dramatic victory... captivates the audience with Turbo's song

NEXZ(Nexz) won first place in their debut appearance on 'Immortal Songs.' The 755th episode of KBS2's 'Immortal Songs,' aired on the 9th, was themed 'Lyricist and Composer Joo Young-hoon Part 2,' and Nexz reached the top by just one vote.
On this episode, five teams—Son Seung-yeon X Jo Hyung-kyun, Chae-yeon, D82, Aiki X Rihey X Hyojin Choi, and Nexz—reinterpreted Joo Young-hoon's masterpieces in their own styles. Nexz, who performed last, chose Turbo's 'My Childhood Dream' and staged the performance with precise choreography, b-boying, and dynamic dance breaks. Their energetic performance and solid live skills drew enthusiastic responses from the audience.
The team of Aiki, Rihey, and Hyojin Choi presented a performance combining Uhm Jung-hwa's 'Rose of Betrayal' and 'Poison.' The dramatic choreography, intense stage presence, and stable live vocals were harmonized, and they also recreated the iconic 'V-man' point choreography. This performance stopped the winning streak of Son Seung-yeon X Jo Hyung-kyun and secured their victory.
Son Seung-yeon and Jo Hyung-kyun performed Joo Young-hoon and Lee Hye-jin's 'Our Love As It Is' in a musical style for their first stage. The two heightened immersion with emotional harmony and explosive high notes, and San-deul commented, "It was like a scene from Beauty and the Beast."
Chae-yeon reinterpreted Rumors' 'Storm' with city pop sensibility styling and a retro atmosphere performance. She showcased overwhelming energy on stage with dancers, leading to a standing ovation from the audience and cast.
D82 chose Jang Hye-jin's 'Dream Conversation' and decorated the stage with vocalist Han Seung-yoon's soulful voice and emotional band sound. The addition of lyrical piano and escalating arrangement created a different atmosphere from the original. Soran evaluated, "Not just seasoned, but thoroughly experienced."
MC Lee Chan-won watched Nexz's stage and said, "It reminded me of ATEEZ," mentioning the birth of a new Immortal idol. Joo Young-hoon expressed, "Thanks to the singers who joined me, I was able to create a prime page in my life," and added, "Listening to my old songs again after a long time moved me deeply as well."
