Little Twins secure first place in the first half by defeating Little Tigers, powered by Kang Jun-young's game-winning home run

In the KBS 2TV sports reality variety show "Our Neighborhood Baseball Captain," the Little Twins, led by manager Park Yong-taek, defeated the Little Tigers to secure first place in the first half of the season.

In the first game of the third round, the Little Twins and the Little Tigers faced off in a crucial match that would determine the first-half rankings. Before the game, both teams focused on special training. Manager Na Ji-wan climbed Seoseokdae Peak of Mudeungsan Mountain at an altitude of 1,100 meters with his players to strengthen team spirit, while manager Park Yong-taek concentrated on reinforcing the catcher position.

The game started with the Little Twins' offense. Yoon Si-on opened the scoring with a double, followed by team batting from Choi Jin-ho and consecutive hits by Yoo Young-bin and Min Jun-woo, scoring the first three runs. In the bottom of the first inning, third-grader Lee Ji-hyuk played as the starting catcher, drawing attention with his stable defense and throws. Other team managers and coaches praised Lee Ji-hyuk's performance, saying, "He is a genius."

In the top of the third inning, Kang Yoo-han of the Little Tigers caught a runner sprinting from second base to home with a throw from left field, prompting commentators to say, "This is the best throw in 'Our Neighborhood Baseball Captain' history." During the subsequent home sliding of the runner at third base, manager Na Ji-wan strongly appealed the safe call, and unusually, a four-umpire conference was held, but the original decision was upheld.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Little Tigers, with two outs and bases loaded, narrowed the score to 4-3 with a hit by Kim Si-yoon and then took the lead with a hit by Lee Seung-won. They scored five runs in the fourth inning alone, including an inside-the-park hit by Seo Eun-woo, taking a 4-6 lead.

In the top of the fifth inning, the Little Twins tied the game with RBI hits by Choi Jin-ho and Yoo Young-bin, then Kang Jun-young hit a go-ahead home run over 70 meters. Manager Park Yong-taek said, "I thought we could somehow tie the game, but I couldn't believe Jun-young hit a home run." The Little Twins went on to win 11-6, maintaining their first-place position for the first half of the season. Kang Jun-young, who hit the go-ahead two-run home run, was named "Today's Baseball Captain."

Meanwhile, "Our Neighborhood Baseball Captain" is a program where Park Yong-taek, Lee Dae-ho, Kim Tae-kyun, and Na Ji-wan each select U-10 youth players from their respective hometowns to form teams and compete in a league. It airs every Sunday at 9:20 PM on KBS 2TV.
