Lee Woo-jung sings for his father's dream on 'Morning Yard'... Tears as he chooses the song 'Wish'

Lee Woo-jung participated in the preliminary round of KBS 1TV’s ″Morning Yard″ segment ″Challenge! Dream Stage,″ expressing his desire to become a famous singer. On the May 13 broadcast, Lee Woo-jung took the stage as the first contestant and revealed that he wanted to give his father the title of ″father of a famous singer.″

He said that his father was a singer during his childhood and that he remembered him wearing glittery clothes and going on stage. However, after his parents’ divorce, his father had to raise three children alone and gave up his singing career to make a living. Lee Woo-jung shared that although his father worked tirelessly at karaoke rooms, chicken restaurants, and live cafes, their family’s financial situation remained difficult. He added that his father apologized for not being able to raise him in abundance.

Lee Woo-jung also mentioned his experience helping his father at karaoke rooms and said he felt sorry and pitiful seeing his father bowing to drunken customers. He said, ″My father stopped his singing activities to raise his children, but he always had a passion for singing in his heart,″ expressing his hope that his father’s dream would come true.

That day, Lee Woo-jung chose to sing Noh Sa-yeon’s ″Wish.″ He shared that as time passed, his father released an album but was frustrated by the lack of opportunities to perform on stage. He continued, ″It was heartbreaking to see my father lose his youth and dreams while raising his children. That’s why I took this stage to fulfill my father’s unachieved dream. I will sing beautifully for my father’s and my dreams,″ and after finishing his performance, he showed tears.
