Singer Lee Sun-hee recently shared her thoughts on her DJ activities and her new hairstyle change. On the 17th, Lee Sun-hee appeared on the YouTube channel ’Lee Geum-hee My Geum-hee’ and talked about her DJ debut and hopes for the future.

Lee Sun-hee mentioned her experience performing last year under the name ’DJ HEE,’ saying, ″I don’t usually indulge in escapism, but this was my own kind of escape.″ She revealed that she had liked heavy metal and hard rock even before her debut, explaining, ″It seems like a genre where the feeling of hitting is stronger than the feeling of sensing.″ She was attracted to the intense beats while listening to EDM music and said she also encountered the bass house genre during the process of learning DJing.

Emphasizing that she is a rookie as a DJ, she said, ″Rather than fear, I wanted to meet people who make different kinds of music. I wanted to try making music, not just work in the engineering field. I wanted to gauge my skills, and a good opportunity came up.″ She added, ″(Being a DJ) is about expressing yourself with restraint. You just go and enjoy it freely.″

Regarding her recent transformation to a short perm style, she explained that the stylists said it was difficult to style her hair without a perm, so she decided to get one. ″I thought I should help my friends who dry-style their hair after a perm. Then this hairstyle came out. I just decided to live with it as it is.″

On how she relieves emotions, she said, ″I walk in places like Hangang Citizen’s Park and travel alone. When I can’t go out, I suddenly take out all my clothes and organize them.″ She added that after organizing, melodies sometimes come to her mind.

About her future image, Lee Sun-hee expressed her wish to ″become a cute grandmother.″ ″I originally had a very charming personality, but I held back. The other person felt unfamiliar, so I restrained myself, but it was hard,″ she said. ″Now, I want to live showing who I am. Thinking about becoming a cute grandmother in old age, I believe that with this mindset, I won’t be scared or lonely, and the world will look different.″

Meanwhile, Lee Sun-hee debuted in 1984 and has established herself as a representative vocalist in the Korean music scene with numerous hit songs such as ’To J,’ ’Ah! The Old Days,’ and ’Fate.’
