On KBS2’s ’Salimnam,’ Hwanhee was shown visiting Jeju Island with his mother, who was taking her first trip in 74 years.

As soon as Hwanhee’s mother entered the airport during the broadcast, she expressed her excitement, saying, ″I’m a little nervous and feel like crying.″ To his mother, who was flying for the first time, Hwanhee joked, ″You can’t wear shoes on the plane,″ and his mother believed him and tried to take off her shoes, causing laughter.

Upon arriving in Jeju, Hwanhee’s mother shed tears, saying, ″I thought I would never be able to visit Jeju in my lifetime.″ Hwanhee shared his feelings, saying, ″Mom has always lived nervously and cautiously, but I hope she can be comfortable on this trip.″

Early in the trip, when Hwanhee’s mother saw the blue sports car he rented, she said, ″It looks like a delinquent car,″ and the two spent time driving along the coastal road. Seeing the sea up close for the first time, his mother was moved and said, ″Sea, I’m here. I’m Hwanhee’s mom,″ and she was also seen talking to flowers in a canola flower field. Hwanhee revealed, ″This is the first time I’ve seen my mom like this.″

At dinner, Hwanhee’s mother revealed that she had avoided eating together for about 10 years because she didn’t want to show a disheveled side in front of her son. The two sat side by side at a table for one, and Hwanhee said, ″Thank you for eating with me.″

At the end of the trip, while Hwanhee went out to buy medicine because his mother was feeling unwell at the accommodation, she comforted her stomach with ’somaek,’ a mix of canned beer and soju. When Hwanhee returned and saw his mother feeling fine, he showed a wry smile.
