Singer Jeon Somi’s father, Matthew Douma, revealed his philosophy on raising children and his experiences with international marriage. In the video, Seonwoo Yongyeo, who visited Busan, reunited with Matthew Douma, a Canadian actor and Jeon Somi’s father, after six years. The two had previously connected through Buddhist broadcasting. Matthew Douma greeted Seonwoo Yongyeo with a 90-degree bow, saying, ″Hello, teacher,″ and when Seonwoo Yongyeo remarked, ″You look the same as six years ago,″ he replied, ″I’m old and my body hurts.″ Seonwoo Yongyeo laughed and playfully scolded him, saying, ″You don’t say you’re old in front of elders. At times like that, you just say you’re doing well.″ Matthew Douma apologized, saying, ″I think I spoke carelessly earlier,″ to which Seonwoo Yongyeo responded, ″I was joking with a smile. Were you really surprised?″

Afterward, the two went to eat pufferfish soup. Matthew Douma currently runs a smoked salmon restaurant in Korea and shared his important educational approach while raising his two daughters. He explained, ″Instead of giving unconditional orders to children, I encouraged them to make their own judgments,″ using toothbrushing habits as an example: ″Rather than forcing them on what to do, I made them think about the consequences of their choices.″

Matthew Douma also mentioned an experience when registering his marriage with his Korean wife, where a government official asked why he did not marry a Korean man, implying a similar question. He said, ″That incident was just one of many experiences,″ revealing that his wife faced considerable difficulties. He recalled, ″Things have changed a lot now, but in the past, my wife went through many hardships.″ He also shared his value of seeing people as individuals rather than by nationality.

Seonwoo Yongyeo and the production team also visited the temple Matthew Douma attends. There, a mural painted by Jeon Somi herself remained, and Matthew Douma introduced it, expressing his affection for his daughter.
