Singer Hwang Young Woong continued donation activities in June. Dongbang Social Welfare Center announced on the 8th that Hwang Young Woong donated 1.5 million won through the donation platform ’Seonhan Star.’ This donation was made entirely from the prize money Hwang Young Woong received at the May King of Singers competition, and Hwang Young Woong’s cumulative donations through Seonhan Star amount to 58.57 million won.

Dongbang Social Welfare Center stated that the received donation will be used for developmental rehabilitation treatment costs for children and adolescents with disabilities under the center’s care. They plan to support children with communication difficulties and marginalized disabled children so that they do not stop treatment due to financial burdens.

Hwang Young Woong gained recognition by appearing on MBN’s trot program ’Burning Trotman’ and has released several songs including ’Knitted Clothes,’ ’Boat to Hometown,’ and ’Oppa is Back.’ Additionally, Hwang Young Woong won two awards at the 6th Korea Hallyu Entertainment Awards held last month, receiving the Trot Music Award and the Male Trot Star Award.
