Yook Ji-dam reveals reason for quitting her position as head of plastic surgery consultations: "I went through a slump and was mentally struggling."

Rapper Yuk Ji-dam revealed the reason she switched careers to become a consultation manager at a plastic surgery clinic.
Yuk Ji-dam recently appeared on the YouTube channel ″Just Doctor″ to share her recent updates. She disclosed that she went through a slump after appearing on ″Money Game.″ Yuk Ji-dam said, ″After ’Money Game,’ I don’t know if it was because I received a lot of criticism while being active, but I went through a slump. I was mentally very exhausted and worn out.″
She went on to explain that she spent a year doing nothing and worked a part-time night shift at a convenience store for about a year. Later, she looked for a job with stable income and also worked at a pizza place. She said, ″I’ve been rapping since I was very young, even before my identity was fully formed, so I really didn’t know what to do. I looked for something I could do long-term with stable income and ended up working at a pizza place.″
Yuk Ji-dam also mentioned her experience of being called a ″hip-hop tease″ and facing a lot of teasing and criticism since she was 18. She stated, ″I’m not completely okay, but I’m living well now.″
Regarding her rapper activities, she recalled, ″I don’t want to go back, but when I think about that time, it was ’really fun’.″ She added that she hasn’t completely quit rapping and might release music again someday. Yuk Ji-dam emphasized, ″I still write lyrics at home. Being a rapper is more of an identity than a job to me. My current job is consultation manager, but my identity is a rapper.″
Meanwhile, Yuk Ji-dam gained recognition after appearing on Mnet’s ″Show Me The Money 3″ in 2014 and also faced various criticisms after appearing on the web variety show ″Money Game″ in 2021.
