So Ji-sub appeared as a special guest on SBS’s ’My Ugly Duckling’ 500th episode special and revealed his close relationship with Song Seung-heon. He stated on his SNS that, aside from his agency, Song Seung-heon is the only person he follows.

So Ji-sub said that during his unknown days, he lived in Incheon with his mother and sister while commuting to Seoul. At that time, financially strained and burdened by transportation costs, Song Seung-heon offered, ″You can come and stay anytime,″ and Song Seung-heon’s mother even prepared meals for him. So Ji-sub explained that this event made Song Seung-heon a truly precious person to him. He described Song Seung-heon as ″a benefactor-like person, someone I look up to alone.″

On the broadcast, Shin Dong-yup also shared an anecdote about their first meeting. Shin Dong-yup said that during the filming of the 1998 MBC sitcom ’Men Three Women Three,’ when Song Seung-heon brought So Ji-sub along, he initially misunderstood So Ji-sub because of his flashy clothes, accessories, and dyed hair. Meanwhile, So Ji-sub revealed that he regularly meets with Shin Dong-yup, Lee Byung-hun, and Song Seung-heon. When asked, ″Among Shin Dong-yup, Lee Byung-hun, and Song Seung-heon, who is your favorite hyung (older brother)?″, he hesitated for a while before pointing to Shin Dong-yup and saying, ″I like and respect him.″ Additionally, So Ji-sub said that he is the member who leaves the gatherings the earliest because he manages himself strictly.
