Heo Anna revealed on SBS variety show ’Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny’ that she went through a difficult time after losing her dog and cat just one day apart. On the show, Heo Anna confessed that she was barely able to do anything for a month after losing two pets in succession. She said, ″I originally had three, but one passed away two years ago, and the other two left one after another,″ adding that at the last moment, after hearing from the hospital that there was no improvement expected, she brought both pets home and spent their final moments with them. Heo Anna broke down, saying, ″Yesterday was the first time in 17 years that I was alone. Will there ever be a day when I don’t cry?″ Her husband Oh Kyung-joo comforted her, saying, ″With time, you’ll gradually get used to it.″

In the couple’s home, traces of their departed family members remained, such as pet dolls, blankets, and a cat tower. The broadcast also showed Shin Giru visiting Heo Anna’s home to comfort her. Upon hearing that Heo Anna wasn’t eating, Shin Giru prepared ten packed meals and came over, saying, ″You have to eat until you’re full.″ Referring to her own experience, Shin Giru said, ″Heo Anna was having such a hard time. When I went through a major ordeal, I realized how much it helps to have someone by your side. Since Heo Anna wasn’t eating, I came to eat with her.″ Shin Giru also shared her experience of losing her sense of taste after her mother passed away, advising, ″I had to make an effort to overcome the sadness. I thought it was especially important to eat well during times like this. I’m the only one who can protect myself.″
