KBS 2TV weekend mini-series ″The Completion of Marriage″ set a new personal record by achieving a 6.4% viewership rating after just two episodes. The peak minute rating rose to 7.2%. The first episode recorded a 4.4% rating, increasing by 2 percentage points in the second episode.

From the first week of its broadcast, this work also stood out on OTT platforms. It ranked first on Disney+ ″Today’s Korea TOP 10 Series,″ placed 6th in the Good Data Corporation Fundex Report for TV-OTT drama buzz in the first week of July, and ranked 4th in TV drama buzz.

″The Completion of Marriage″ features Namgoong Min as Kang Tae-joo, an ordinary neurosurgeon whose life changes after his wife’s kidnapping. Kim Dae-myung appears as the kidnapper Noh Man-hee, and Lee Seol plays the kidnapping victim Go Se-yoon, each fulfilling their respective roles. The psychological battles and successive twists among the three characters heighten the tension of the drama, while the emotions and situations of the characters are naturally connected through cinematography and direction.

Unlike typical crime thrillers, the drama differentiates itself by revealing the husband’s request to ″get rid of my wife″ from the first episode and disclosing the identity of the culprit early on. Instead of focusing on tracking the criminal, the story emphasizes the reason behind the kidnapping. All characters involved in Go Se-yoon’s kidnapping case emerge as suspects, arousing curiosity for the next episode.

Meanwhile, SBS’s ″Chief Kim,″ airing in the same time slot as ″The Completion of Marriage,″ continues its high popularity with a 21.6% viewership rating. ″Chief Kim″ ranked first on Netflix’s global TOP 10 non-English TV shows, recording 10.5 million views and 44.1 million viewing hours. It topped the charts in 11 countries including Korea and entered the TOP 10 in 79 countries worldwide.

The production team of ″The Completion of Marriage″ expressed gratitude for the interest and support received after only two episodes aired and stated that the hidden truths and the reality of the incident will be revealed more intensely going forward.
