Singer Hwang Young Woong will participate in the OST of the KBS2 weekend drama ″Prescribing Love″ and release songs. The OST production company announced on the 10th that the songs featuring Hwang Young Woong will be released sequentially.

The production company explained that this OST project was carried out with a lineup of several trot singers, including Hwang Young Woong, even before the drama aired. Considering the musical composition and production process, after internal review, they decided to release the songs as originally planned. They also emphasized that Hwang Young Woong’s participation in the OST is unrelated to any appearance in the drama or separate broadcasting activities.

Hwang Young Woong gained attention by appearing on MBN’s ″Burning Trotman″ in 2023 but voluntarily withdrew from the program amid personal controversies, including allegations of school violence. At that time, Hwang Young Woong confirmed that he had been fined 500,000 won by a summary prosecution in 2016 at the age of 22. He acknowledged having a record of assault but denied the allegations of school violence.

Subsequently, the agency Golden Voice stated in an official position in January this year that ″a significant portion of the allegations circulated so far have been maliciously edited or one-sided claims without verified facts,″ and that ″Hwang Young Woong may have had disputes or struggles with friends during school days, but there is no fact that he continuously bullied a specific person or committed the sadistic acts reported.″ They also explained that the reason for Hwang Young Woong’s withdrawal from the program was ″the singer’s decision out of concern that the public competition stage and fellow artists would be harmed.″

Regarding the OST work, Hwang Young Woong once expressed regret at a fan meeting that although he recorded the drama OST, the final contract was not concluded. The songs will be released according to the production company’s decision.
