Singer Park Seo-jin visited a hospital with his family after learning about his father’s hearing loss on KBS 2TV’s ″Men Who Do Housework Season 2.″ The broadcast revealed that Park Seo-jin’s father usually could not hear his family’s voices properly and did not respond to the doorbell sound. Park Seo-jin realized that what he had thought was a simple inconvenience could lead to dangers in daily life and became concerned about his father’s health.

After undergoing a hearing test at the hospital, it was found that Park Seo-jin’s father’s hearing in both ears was significantly below the normal level of 25db for adult males. The doctor explained that he had difficulty hearing low sounds such as car noises and that hearing loss could also affect cognitive functions.

Park Seo-jin’s father confessed that his hearing had declined for 7 to 8 years, and because the cost of hearing aids was a burden, he had hidden his hearing loss to avoid worrying his children. He also admitted that there were dangerous moments when he could not hear sounds while working at sea.

The doctor advised that wearing hearing aids was the best option for his current condition. Park Seo-jin expressed his upset feelings, saying, ″What does money matter? We need to hear our voices for a long time.″ Hesitant at first, his father eventually decided to wear hearing aids. Standing by his father, Park Seo-jin showed his affection for his family, saying, ″That’s why I work hard.″
