After the release of the video titled ″Human Documentary: Real Extreme Jobs″ featuring civil servants on the YouTube channel ″Hot Issue Ji,″ starring Lee Su-ji, the production team issued an official apology following controversy over certain scenes in the video.
The problematic scene appeared during Lee Su-ji’s portrayal of Kim Ji-young, a first-year civil servant suffering from malicious complaints. In the video, complainants are shown shouting ″re-election,″ and Lee Su-ji says, ″You can’t do this here.″ Some viewers criticized this as mocking protesters demanding re-election by portraying them as malicious complainants.
On the 15th, the production team commented on the video, stating, ″We sincerely apologize to everyone who felt discomfort and disappointment because of the video,″ and explained, ″The scenes pointed out by many were not intended to convey any specific issue or political stance.″ They added, ″Using the scenes without sufficiently careful consideration of socially sensitive matters was a lack of judgment on the part of the production team.″ Furthermore, they emphasized, ″This incident is completely unrelated to the personal political views or intentions of the cast members and occurred due to insufficient careful review during the video production process.″
As the controversy spread, the production team deleted the problematic scenes and re-uploaded the video. They expressed, ″We deeply regret causing unnecessary misunderstandings and burdens even to the cast members,″ and promised, ″We will produce content with a more responsible attitude going forward.″
