Joo Sang-wook revealed behind-the-scenes photos from the SBS Friday-Saturday drama ’Chief Kim’ on his social media on July 14. He posted several pictures along with the caption, ″The special effects team worked so hard. The sauna scene... I’ll keep it a secret that it was actually a cold bath.″

The released photos show Joo Sang-wook shirtless and receiving special makeup for the sauna and bathhouse scene. His defined abs, solid physique, and back muscles were visible, drawing attention to his self-care. Joo Sang-wook mentioned that the sauna scene was actually filmed in a cold bath.

Joo Sang-wook is passionately playing the role of Joo Kang-chan, a construction company chairman with a background as a hired thug, in ’Chief Kim.’ This is his first time playing a villain. At the press conference, Joo Sang-wook said, ″This is the first time I’ve played such an outright villain. That’s why it felt so attractive. It was fresh and fun until the end of filming.″ He also teased action scenes with So Ji-sub, saying, ″It’s the first time I’ve been hit this much.″

Director Lee Seung-young explained the reason for casting Joo Sang-wook as Joo Kang-chan: ″Many actors were considered, but fate led us to Joo Sang-wook. I firmly believe that Joo Sang-wook’s acting career will be divided into before and after ’Chief Kim.’ You can look forward to it.″

’Chief Kim’ is a comic action noir drama about the most ordinary dad in the world who becomes the most dangerous man to fight to get his daughter back. After six episodes, according to Nielsen Korea, it recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 22.3%, 23.2% in the metropolitan area, and a peak rating of 26.4%. ’Chief Kim’ is scheduled to air on the 17th at 9:50 PM.
