Jo Hye-ryun recently shared an update about losing 8kg and quitting both alcohol and smoking, openly revealing her past.

Jo Hye-ryun appeared on the YouTube channel ’Lee Sung-mi’s Can’t Go’ and said, ″I am now living a completely different life,″ adding, ″Now it’s ’no alcohol,’ ’no smoking.’ I’m also trying to cut down on coffee. I try not to do things that are bad for my body.″ She continued, ″I don’t put just anything into my body. That’s why I’ve become this slim,″ sharing the news of her 8kg weight loss.

Lee Sung-mi commented on Jo Hye-ryun’s change, saying, ″Hye-ryun has really become beautiful,″ and Jo Hye-ryun mentioned, ″I used to always smoke even in front of you, sister.″ The two recalled the time they lived together in Ilsan, with Jo Hye-ryun reenacting, ″’Sister, I’ll just smoke one and come back,’ then drinking and smoking.″ She also reminisced, ″I was always lonely. So I always gathered people around, held parties, and spent time at karaoke.″ Lee Sung-mi added, ″Jo Hye-ryun was really someone who enjoyed drinking and partying nonstop.″

Jo Hye-ryun confessed that her past behavior stemmed from a sense of ’lack.’ She said, ″There was something inside me that was never filled. No matter how much I worked, I only thought ’I have to do more,’″ adding, ″Lee Sung-mi sister was hosting ’Truth Game,’ and I kept pushing myself, thinking, ’What am I doing now?’″ She explained, ″Because I wasn’t satisfied with reality, I drank and smoked to forget that emptiness.″

Additionally, Jo Hye-ryun revealed that although she practiced religion in the past, she couldn’t easily fill the emptiness in her heart. She shared, ″I worked hard, but the results weren’t good, so I got frustrated,″ describing her feelings at the time. She continued, ″Drinking and smoking aren’t illegal, and many people live that way. So I didn’t know it was such a bad thing,″ and said, ″If I was curious about my future, I didn’t think it was strange to go see a fortune teller.″
