Big Bang has been appointed as the first ambassador of the Space Agency. On August 14, YG Entertainment announced that Big Bang (G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung) had been selected as the inaugural ambassador of the Space Agency.

The Space Agency selected its first ambassador since its launch in 2024, stating that Big Bang will participate in various communication activities to inform the public about the future vision and key policies of South Korea’s space program. A representative of the Space Agency said, ″We appointed Big Bang as ambassadors to create new challenges in South Korea’s space industry together with the public,″ and added, ″Going forward, we will expand public interest and participation in space through various communication activities with Big Bang.″

Big Bang will also participate in the public engagement program ″Dream Capsule,″ which is linked to major space projects. Dream Capsule is a program open to everyone, and Big Bang will serve as ambassadors connecting the public with space. At 10 a.m. on August 14, a micro website commemorating their 20th debut anniversary will be launched to receive memories and messages from V.I.Ps (their fandom) worldwide. These messages will be converted into coded images inspired by the ″Arecibo message″ and loaded onto Nuriho-5 to be launched into space.

The group name ″Big Bang″ signifies the birth of the universe, symbolically linking to this ambassador appointment. Their world tour celebrating their 20th anniversary, ″BIGBANG 2026-2027 WORLD TOUR < XX : COSMOS >,″ is also themed around space. After releasing their new digital single ″BiiiG″ at 6 p.m. on August 19, Big Bang will hold 33 performances across 19 cities, starting with concerts at Goyang Sports Complex from August 21 to 23, covering North America, Europe, Oceania, and Asia.
