Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon revealed the dormitory she has been living in for 19 years on a broadcast.
At the end of the MBC show ’The Manager’ aired on the 29th, a video featuring Hyoyeon was introduced. Regarding her first appearance on ’The Manager,’ member Sooyoung said, ″That show features famous people, so why you?″ to which Hyoyeon replied, ″That’s annoying.″
Hyoyeon revealed the Girls’ Generation dormitory where she currently lives alone and stated that she has been living there for 19 years. She also showed her relationship with the dormitory aunt, who has been connected with her for 21 years since high school. The aunt expressed affection by saying to Hyoyeon, ″You are like a daughter. If you quit, I will quit too.″
Previously, Hyoyeon appeared on JTBC’s ’Please Take Care of My Refrigerator’ and explained why she stayed alone even after the members left the dormitory: ″Songdo is my hometown, but I stay here to make my daily schedule comfortable. It is a comfortable sanctuary, and they always prepare meals so I don’t go hungry. There is no better place than this.″
She also mentioned the advantages of dormitory life on the YouTube channel ’Hal Myungsoo,’ saying, ″I can rest comfortably, and delicious meals are all provided,″ and added a practical reason, ″I think saving money is the only way to live.″
Hyoyeon said, ″When I first signed with SM, they said they would take care of me like a ’second mother,’ and they have been taking good care of me until now. That’s why I want to stay.″ She honestly shared, ″Sometimes when I have no income, I feel hesitant, wondering if I should still be here.″
