BTS’s V Reveals Passion for Reading During Military Service: From Keigo Higashino to Han Kang

V of the global group BTS has garnered attention by revealing the reading list that nourished his mind during his military service.
In a recent cover interview with Rolling Stone, V spoke candidly about the time he spent rebuilding his body and mind during his service. He shared that he dedicated himself to reading and health management to ensure the long period of military duty was not wasted.
Regarding the books he read while serving, V said, "At first, I read a lot of novels by Keigo Higashino." He added that he also read a book titled 'Eleven Steps,' which contains philosophical content, and found himself projecting his own thoughts into the text.
"I used to imagine myself as a character in the novels," he recalled, reminiscing about the days he spent deep in his imagination. Notably, he caught people's interest by mentioning that when he asked a friend for book recommendations, the friend excitedly suggested works by Han Kang and Keigo Higashino, which became his primary focus.
V emphasized that the year and a half spent balancing reading and exercise provided him with an opportunity for physical and mental reconstruction. "I tried hard to forget 'V of BTS' for a while and concentrate on living as 'Kim Taehyung' in the military environment," he said, sharing that he took the time to look back on his inner self and deeply contemplate what kind of person he wants to become.
