WJSN member Dayoung appeared on MBC variety show ″The Manager″ to clarify tanning suspicions and revealed her experience of applying full-body makeup during past activities.

On the show, Dayoung explained, ″Everyone thinks I tanned, but this is my natural skin.″ She added that while promoting as a member of WJSN, she applied body makeup to conceal her tanned skin, used a light lake-colored foundation, and used a bottle of foam cleanser every two weeks.

When Yang Se-hyung commented, ″You look like a foreigner,″ Dayoung replied, ″I’m from Jeju Island.″ Jeon Hyun-moo also said, ″You look like a pop star visiting Korea. You look like you just came out of a tanning salon.″

Following Dayoung’s remarks, various reactions emerged among overseas fans. Some expressed surprise that she endured physical hardships to achieve a perfect appearance and pointed out the strict aesthetic standards required of K-pop idols. Meanwhile, there were also voices supporting Dayoung’s natural skin tone.

Domestic netizens also responded with comments such as ″It must have been uncomfortable to apply makeup on your body,″ and ″Your natural skin is beautiful.″

Meanwhile, Dayoung made her solo debut last year with ″Body″ and recently released the digital single ″What’s a girl to do,″ continuing her activities.
