In episode 7 of SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama ″Brilliant New World,″ Shin Seori (played by Lim Ji-yeon) and Cha Segye (played by Heo Nam-jun) acknowledged their feelings for each other, marking a new turning point in their relationship. The episode depicted the changed atmosphere after their first kiss in Jeju Island and the deepening emotional connection that followed.

The broadcast achieved a peak viewership rating of 10.7% nationwide and 9.4% across the country according to Nielsen Korea, ranking first in its time slot. The 2049 target audience rating also set a new personal best, averaging 3.4% and reaching a high of 4.29%.

In the drama, Cha Segye launched an unreserved affection offensive toward Shin Seori. His eldest aunt, Cha Juran (played by Jung Young-joo), tried to drive a wedge between them by handing Shin Seori an envelope of money, but she refused it. Later, Mo Tae-hee (played by Chae Seo-an), a woman from a matchmaking meeting, appeared and provoked Shin Seori.

Shin Seori recalled the past life connection between Kang Dan-sim (played by Lim Ji-yeon) and Lee Hyun (played by Heo Nam-jun) and tried to push Cha Segye away due to painful memories of love. However, Cha Segye expressed his affection without concern for others’ opinions, even instructing the company to organize Shin Seori’s profile.

A crisis arose when Cha Segye was caught up in a hit-and-run rumor involving drunk driving, orchestrated by Choi Mondo (played by Jang Seung-jo). Shin Seori visited the police station for Cha Segye and sincerely said, ″I want to protect you. I’m willing to do anything for you.″ In front of the press, Shin Seori and Cha Segye held hands and proudly revealed their relationship.

Additionally, personal hardships were portrayed, including Shin Seori’s grandmother Nam Ok-soon (played by Kim Hae-sook) being diagnosed with a heart disease-related stroke and mild Alzheimer’s. Cha Segye showed consideration by brightening the rooftop room’s light and leaving a handwritten letter for Shin Seori. Realizing her true feelings, Shin Seori ran toward Cha Segye, saying, ″I don’t want to be alone anymore.″
