In episode 8 of SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama ″Brilliant New World,″ Shin Seori (Im Ji-yeon) actively steps up to protect Cha Segye (Heo Nam-jun) during his crisis. In the broadcast, Shin Seori appeared before the press to clear up rumors of drunk driving and hit-and-run fabricated by Choi Mondo (Jang Seung-jo), saying, ″Representative Cha Segye is the head of the company I belong to. That day, the representative did not drink a single drop of alcohol.″ She then revealed that Cha Segye had decided to donate half of the advertising shoot’s earnings to environmental protection in Tamra, drawing attention.

Cha Segye was embarrassed by Shin Seori’s sudden press conference, but the two overcame the crisis together. Meanwhile, Mo Tae-hee (Chae Seo-an) tried to shake their relationship by publishing an article about her romance with Cha Segye, but Cha Segye firmly drew the line with Tae-hee, saying, ″I am currently hanging on to Shin Seori. I am confident I won’t regret giving up on that woman. So my choice is already made.″ Enraged, Tae-hee spread malicious rumors about Seori.

Choi Mondo pressured Shin Seori to create a scandal related to Cha Segye to prevent his marriage with Mo Tae-hee. Shin Seori was put in a difficult situation, being blackmailed using her grandmother as leverage, but Cha Segye, unaware of this, expressed his feelings to her.

At the end of the broadcast, Cha Segye was shown confused as he recalled a past connection between Dansim (Im Ji-yeon), Hyeon (Heo Nam-jun), and Lee Jae (Jang Seung-jo) from 300 years ago in a dream. After waking up, Segye visited Shin Seori and asked, ″Riverbank Dansim, who are you?″ heightening the tension of the story.
