Singer and broadcaster Kim Jong-kook nearly fell victim to double payment fraud during his trip to Dubai.

Kim Jong-kook uploaded a video titled ″Even the day pass is expensive, and I almost got ripped off... (Feat. Oil Money)″ on his YouTube channel GYM JONG KOOK on the 28th of last month. The video showed Kim Jong-kook visiting a gym in Dubai, where the day pass price was relatively high at 120,000 won. Inside the gym, there was a beauty salon and a protein food shop, and golden dumbbells were available.

After finishing their workout, Kim Jong-kook and his group moved to a buggy experience site the next day. At the site, Kim Jong-kook was informed about the payment and understood that only the reservation was completed and the cost had not yet been paid. However, the amount informed was different from the reservation price, and the staff demanded 2,000 dirhams (approximately 820,000 won), claiming it was a discounted price. Kim Jong-kook proceeded with the card payment, but in reality, both the reservation and payment for the experience had already been completed. Additionally, the company they visited was confirmed to be different from the one originally booked.

Later, Kim Jong-kook requested a refund, but the staff explained, ″It’s not my mistake.″ After receiving the refund, Kim Jong-kook said, ″I really got ripped off,″ and added, ″They took us to a place that wasn’t our reservation and just processed the payment.″ Through the video subtitles, he also urged, ″It’s also our fault for trusting the staff and not thoroughly checking the reservation details. Please be careful about these things when abroad.″
