RM (Kim Nam-joon), the leader of the group BTS, is drawing intense attention from global fans by revealing a special playlist that provided immense comfort and healing during his mandatory military service.

Recently, the American music magazine Rolling Stone uploaded an in-depth cover story interview with RM on its official YouTube channel, conducted about eight months after his military discharge. In the video, RM candidly shared the psychological changes he experienced in the unfamiliar environment of the military, alongside his deep anxieties as an artist.

What caught the audience's attention in particular was his talk about "music," which spiritually rescued him during his service. Looking back on his time in the military, RM confessed, "I listened to so many albums while in the military, and thanks to that, my love for music grew even deeper."

Among those tracks, he picked a collaboration song by American hip-hop artists Tyler, The Creator and Teezo Touchdown as his ultimate "healing song." RM confided, "At the time, military life felt so long. I kept thinking, 'What if this goes on forever?' and the word 'Forever' felt too long and heavy for me."

What held him together at that moment was the simple phrase "Forever" in the lyrics. RM kept singing along with the phrase throughout his service, and in that process, he received powerful comfort that healed his inner wounds.

RM, who experienced hitting "rock bottom" psychologically in an isolated military environment, paradoxically managed to complete his "self-therapy" to realize the preciousness of ordinary daily life, all thanks to that solitary time and music.
